training workshops

for postgraduate researchers

and academic staff

Postgraduate training workshops for researcher development are delivered by experienced facilitator Dr. Mhairi Towler and are aligned with the National Researcher Development Framework developed by Vitae (www.vitae.ac.uk).

Various aspects of research require visuals to aid communication. The workshops/seminars described here cover all aspects of visual presentation of research. Workshops can be delivered FACE-to-FACE, by WEBINAR, or a licence can be purchased for a RECORDED SUITE OF SEMINARS.

Although the workshops were developed initially for scientists, the principles taught are generic and can be made bespoke for any discipline.

This resource includes videos on the following topics;

Included in this resource are practical exercises interspersed throughout the videos for interactive learning, a free handout summarising each topic, case studies to illustrate each topic and a certificate at the end to show you have completed the suite of workshops.

Mhairi has also facilitated a number of other workshops including the
Creative Enlightenment” programme through the Scottish Graduate School
for Arts and Humanities
, the Eastbio workshop for science PhD students, “Leadership and Entrepreneurship - Using an enterprising mind set to get things done” and The Venture Enterprise Programme for The University of Dundee.

For more information about the workshops download the workshop brochure or e-mail mhairi@vivomotion.co.uk.  Workshops can be tailored to suit specific student cohorts.

“The workshop was very helpful. I learned a lot of do’s and don’ts for poster presentations. Very interactive and interesting.”
